Forgotten Streams

by Cristina Iglesias

Artist: Cristina Iglesias

Material: Bronze

Patina code : UNO

Project type: restoration - works completed onsite

Location: Bloomburg

Over three months in 2021, Capisco restored Cristina Iglesias’s Forgotten Streams (2017) to match our signature UNO patina. The patina was subject to ‘blue-ing’ due to chemicals in the fountain’s water.

It marks the spot of one of London’s "lost" river Walbrook, which the Victorians built over and is in the heart of London's finical district. The three pools that make up Forgotten Streams flow outside the Bloomberg Building and opposite one of our Landmark project's - 60 Queen Victoria Street.

Image of Cristina Iglesias' Forgotten Streams bronze artwork. It resembles a swamplike collection of roots and is a scummy green colour with tones of chlorinated blue deposits. This is prior to Bronze restoration
Forgotten Streams by the Bloomberg Building. Following bronze restoration the tangled sculpture of roots and reeds is an even green tone.
