Thames Tideway London

Capisco completed four ventilation columns for TIDEWAY LONDON. Once installed these columns will run along the route of London’s new Supersewer.

Logistically challenging due to their 5 metre height and weight two of the columns were completed by Capisco at their London works with the other two being completed at SORBA's Headquarters in Winterswijk , Netherlands.

The unique swirling shape of each pipe relates to how water travels through a flume.

Each of the Ventilation columns bear a poem by Dorothea Smartt. The poems written in Doves Type run up the side of the columns which are fully integrated into the infrastructure of the Tunnel itself.

The columns are designed to last 120 years, making the columns a significant part of Tideway’s cultural legacy for London for years to come.
